Moonlight Marine

A full moon shines brightly in the center of a dark sky; a few clouds scattered above it. Below is the setting of a dark blue sea, reflecting the light of the moon above. Waves are shown in motion through Bannister’s soft year thick brushstrokes, swaying and crashing into one another and the rocks sticking out presumably near the shoreline (where the viewer’s perspective is). In the far distance is a large figure: a ship with three sails, visible and distinguishable.
