The Migration Series, Panel no. 23: The migration spread.

In perhaps one of the more well-known images from the series, this panel depicts a mass of migrants clad in bright primary hues loading into a train car, demonstrating the crowded traveling conditions at the time. The figures remain in profile and indistinguishable. This element, coupled with the title “The Migration Spread” highlights the intensity and gravity of the migration of black American from the South to the North in the 20th century.
